i talked with jimmy last night.he is still one of my closest friends and brother.he misses the pirates but very involved in his work outside music.but you never know he might show up at anytime .he has an open door anytime he wants to rock!!!!!

Haarr mates! Thanks for asking about me, I'm still raising hell and pillaging, just not with the Pirates anymore. I went back to my old vocation as a computer programmer (boring but pays the rent). However, I still stay in touch with Bill and Rich and I'm hoping to do a few shows with them from time to time (when Poisse, their new drummer, can't make a gig). I miss the guys and of course all of you great fans, we made a lot of good friends in our many voyages across the USA and Canada. I heard their new album and think it's the bomb! My guitar reads "Crazy Jimmy Lowe". How in the world you adoin!! You remember playing a VFW club in Taunton, Massachusettes in August - 1992? Double shows - one hour apart. Man them folks up there rocked!! I also remember Austin,MN and Minneapolis Crystal Ballroom. Now that was a trip for the books. Spent a whole month there - in only two days!!!! Come see us and bring out that strong wood when you come!! My baby girl already has her a miniature drum set and she can rock em too!

Hey, I used to work with a Jim (MadDog) Lowe who was a mediocre COBOL guy in Nashville. Could this be the same one? HAHA! How's it going, matey? We're living it up here in Oz. I hear the company's been bought and sold again, so sounds like business as usual. Glad to see your still pounding on something (other than Wayne) and making music! I miss all (well, some) of you guys. Let's hear from you sometime, or better yet, come visit Down Under!

It is so cool to see Bill & Rich back on the scene ..We used to go to see the band whenever possible, probably 25 road trips in Canada & U.S. Bill,Rich,Pat,Jimmy, and Dean(or puddles as we used to call him 'cuz of all his sweat!!LOL)always gave us one helluva show. Besides Bill & Rich , who are the new band members?
Can we expect any Canadian dates anytime soon and when will the single be released to country radio here? Welcome back, great site!!

Man oh Man! What a disc. It's been way too long since music like this was heard. What an awesome disc!!
Saw you guys many times at Billy Bob's in Ft Worth and at the Blue Moon in Tallahasee. First time I met you guys you invited me and a bud on the bus and we partied with ya'll until the sun came up. You even let us back stage a couple of times. I've got an 8x10 at home of all of us on stage together after a show.
Got all the discs you've done, even the one that didn't get released. Got a few connections with Bill through some folks in Alabama.
Can't wait to see you guys again.
Come back to Texas soon. We're going to pester the stations here with e-mail and calls until they get ya'll on the air.

Hey Bill I know you remember Joann and I as much as we all used to party. We used to travel everywhere to see you guys. We have some great memories with you all. Joann wants to know if you still keep in touch with Dean? Tell him we said Hello if you do. We hear he won't be back with the Pirates and the same for Jimmy and Pat. Do you all still keep in touch? I know you still have the talent for songwriting just as I am sure you still have the gift of stage presence. I'm sure when we see you guys again we'll all have some memories to talk about so until then we miss you guys and hope to see you soon in Virginia!!!

hi there Bill i'm glad to see that you and Rich is back i seen you in Alabama but can't remember the date and something told me when you all broke up that you would come back as strong as ever. i keep my cd of the older music in my cd player and i had played it all the time. are you and Rich planning on coming to Nasahville real soon if so i'm definately taking off of work to come to see you. the pirates has always and will always be my favorite group of all times. keep up the great work and you and rich sounds just as good as ever.

I tell you what, there is a great place in Duluth, GA called Wild Bill's. It seats a few thousand people. If y'all want to have a party in Atlanta, that'd be the place to do it! I know I and a few of my closest friends would come. And, who knows, you just might get a few converts out of them. Anyway, just thought I'd pass along the suggestion. So glad you're back. I've been a fan since the 80's but never got the chance to see one of your shows due to raising my two boys. My oldest is in the Marines and over seas now and my youngest is getting ready for his senior year in high school. So now it's my time and I'm looking forward to seeing you guys in person!! You have NO idea how THRILLED I was to learn you were recording again. I have spent YEARS trying to figure out what happened to my favourite band!!!!! Hey Pirates, long time no see. I came to the Executive Inn Rivermont in Owensboro, Kentucky to see you guys 3 times. Also, I saw you at Barren County High in Glasgow for a show. My buddy, Jeff D. used to be your merchandise man, and I carried on with you guys after each show. I take it that Pat, Jimmy, And Dean are no longer with the band. You've got to get them back, especially Dean. He was one cool dude. Bye the way, Bill, my mom still has a picture of her and yourself in a frame. Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I've been calling ALL the radio stations in Ok. I got a couple of CDs to the local stations in Tulsa, hopefuly ya'll will be in rotation here soon. I'm so so so very happy you guys are back. My husband test fits oil rigs and has been on 7 12's (7 days a week 12 hours aday) for about 3 months....but we are going to try to get to Clarksville on the 16th. I know he wants to see ya'll as much as I do. I just want to give you a GREAT big THANK YOU for doing this project. I love the new sight... I've kept checking over the years and HEY here we are. More photos please, please. If you guys do a radio interview with one of the stations in Tulsa my husband and I would love to be there. The last time we got the see ya'll was in Lufkin Tx in '95.

Heard you guys on Bill Cody's WSM show this AM (8/30). You sounded great and Feed Jake made nostalgia take over my morning. Would love to tell you guys the story of following the video down Hwy. 100, McCrory Lane, and Hwy. 70. Thank you for sharing that Danny Bear Mayo has passed. I didn't know. I spoke with him back when Feed Jake was all the rage (just found his number in the phone book!) He was talking about going to Durham, NC. I always wondered how he did with that. So glad his kids got the gene! Anyway, thanks for the memories this morning. Look forward to the new stuff.

Got the CD a few days ago, and HAD to drive to town and enjoy it on my Bose sound system. On a bright, sunny summer day in Virginia, ONLY the Pirates get to go along for the drive.
C'mon, Bill - tell me you remember the poem "The Pirate's Call" I gave you. Tell me you do! It's the only one I've ever written I can recite.

I heard "Fish Bait" on the radio in Des Moines and I thought it sounded like Bill. That is such a great feeling! Made me smile all day. Now we just need to get you to the Iowa State Fair and how about RAGBRAI next year when LANCE is coming. He had over 30,000 people come to see him in Newton. I know he's sweet on Cheryl Crow because he invited her to come along too. I'd love to see you there. I'll do a little work on this end. Glad you're back! It really is a good time for Pirates. I'm calling the radio stations, let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Hey Guy's we finally made it back to Oklahoma. It was well worth the ride and would and will do it again!!! Thanks to all the guy's for signing my daughter's picture. She was so excited that I had to hang on her immediately! and she has been showing it to everyone. Thanks to Rich she feels extra special for the dog paw on her picture. Also thanks for introducing us to Debbie she's Great. It was a real pleasure meeting Pasi, Ross, Dan, Joyce, and Amy. Everyone was remarkable FUN. Hope to bring Kiley(5) to a show soon!!!

Ya'll know I've been a fan since almost the beginning it seems and every time I see you guys I'm just in awe of ya'll and I don't want to ask you about music then because it seems to me it would be like getting off work and every one you see after work just wants to talk about your job. But I do have a serious question for you guys. I've seen ya'll play from bars and honky-tonks to the Mabee Center in Tulsa on tour with the Judds. And I know being on the outside looking in is very different, but it seems like you've had it all and you both have very distinguished writing accomplishments. I'm so very glad that you guys have a new album and are making dates...it's my dream come true...I'm missed ya'll's sound, even though you've had a hand in writing some songs I really liked while ya'll were off the road. But through it all, what have you been happiest doing? Is it the writing and working on projects and being able to enjoy home or the 240 day on the road and screaming fans? I dream of the day ya'll sweep the ACM's and CMA's. Both of you are so talented both performing and writing, and I just wondered about the writing part. I have to admit You both wrote my two most favorite songs of all time by any artist..."Just For You" and "All That Your Eyes See"...I know their older and not radio releases but I love the artistry of them. Thank you always for ya'lls unique style.

I just wanted to thank the guys and everyone in the chat last Saturday night. We had our family over including both sets of parents, brothers, sisters, and other strangers..haha, with Brisket on the grill and of course every CD I have of the Pirates. We had a great time. Sorry for the delay in blogging I got side lined with a really bad migraine...but all better now. I know that alot of enetertainers will be taking the next few months off because of the holidays and I expect you guys will too so I am tremendously looking forward to a full spring scheduale. To be completely honest I hadn't been to a concert of any kind since 2000 and that was Lynard Skynard, I think Bobby had completely given up hope on my fun level, but then we went to Clarksville and I've been calling radio stations and he said the other night during the chat that it was great to see me animated and passionate about something again, and to be honest it feels good too. My best friend from Jr. High on was killed in a car crash 2 weeks after my 33rd birthday then in July I suddenly lost my favorite aunt that had raised me from 13 on...so it has been a little hard for me to pick my head up and smile..but then in late July early August I found out that you guys were back. I've been married 14 years, never able to take Bobby and TJ to Nashville, and on a whim (just like before) we were packed and headed to Clarksville. I am very anxious for the spring scheduale...it really felt good to feel alive and happy inside again and I truly thank each and every one with the Pirates and their families, please know you've made my year and my family very happy and thankful.

Hey Pirates...Awesome to have some good music to listen to for a change. My old cd's are worn out from the young adults now in my house that have been raised on Pirate music. Sarah, Megan, John, Dana, Andrew, Courtney, and I are looking forward to you coming back to the coast, or to New Orleans... Hey Bill, I think a Magnum/Pirates reunion should take place in the French Quarter again. Need to get in touch with Amy too. My brother John lost almost everything in Katrina, but the one thing he hated losing the most was his picture with all of you in Picayune, MS. It would be so cool if I could get him another. He finally got married, and his wife is in love with your music too. We knew that is the only way she could be excepted into the Brown-Jones-Fisk Family! Your talent is God given so Play proud my friends and remember you have raised another fan base with all our children.

Your new kickin up dust is getting good air play in New Orleans on WNOE 101.1 and Joan said she's heard some play on their Coast Kicker 108 in Mississippi...Buddy Brown is suppose to be handling FL, but if he forgets, then Laurie will pick up his slack. Made a trip to the island that tickles and wished you all could have been there. It was a sad day 10 years ago as we traveled from the Isanti County Rodeo in Minnesota. You guys announced that you were leaving the road for a while. This has been a very long while, but I am so happy to see and hear that you are coming back. The shows at Gatlins at the Mall of America, and the New Years Eve party at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis have left great memories for me. Please try to make it back to Minnesota. I have some wonderful ideas as to where we can possibly get you booked. Don't have my CD yet, but it is ordered. Thanks for returning to the music. That's what it is all about,isn't it? As I watch the trial for Saddam the words of "Street Man Named Desire" run through my mind. So I was thinking that maybe it would be interesting to hear what you guys could come up with in a song that expresses pride from a "hometown" soldier that did his/her part in some way that led to this days events. I know "Street Man.." has different political undertones to it, however; I do think you guys could do something Amazing.

I loved the song "Snowman in Birmingham", it touched me. My grandfather's name was Joseph and he was also a carpenter and he died just 2 weeks ago. I heard this song last Sunday and I just started crying. I looked everywhere online for the lyrics but couldn't find them. I would really like to be able to read them because I cannot remember how the song went... can someone help me out?

Well I just had to let you know we've created a rebel! We listened to "Jingle Bells" last night, and we had to play it over and over for Kiley (5). Well today we got a note sent home from her teacher...seems they are learning "Jingle Bells" for their school program, well Kiley sung it the Pirate way, the teacher tried to correct her...several times, and Kiley proceeded to let them know that they were singing it wrong, that they needed to sing it like the Pirates. She's strong willed and doesn't want to sing it their way. I'm not sure what we're going to do with her.LOL. She wants me to send the CD with her so her teacher can see that they are doing it all wrong. Best wishes to all.

Just so everyone knows...the song "Jingle Bells" by the Pirates is on the "Silver Bells...Top Country Stars sing the Best Of Christmas" cd. It was put out years ago.

45 days and counting ya'll. I did my little mapquest today and pulled out my Alabama travel guide. All that stands between "Heaven and a Dixie Night" now is 45 days and 847 miles. Doing good here, getting better everyday, a tremendous thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, Chemo still a possibily but not definate, they think they got it all. Hey, do ya'll think if we make it to Alabama, maybe just maybe ya'll could do Just For You and/or Red Neck Rock N Roll....that one got skipped in Clarksville(insert sad smiley here!)Can't wait guys, Rich, Debbie has to come, last time she saw me she asked me when I was do...I told her I was just misshapen, now minus the 22lb tumor she can see I'm not pregnant, just fluffy LOL. We're all looking forward to seeing every one, Ross, Pasi, get ready...more pictures needed, and we're still trying to figure out how to greet Pasi in his native language, but we're okies so ya know it'll have a twang! Hi, I saw the "original" pirates at a county fair in Bucyrus Ohio way back when, i still remember it like it was yesterday. walking on midway not watching where i was goin "bump" into this guy wearing a white cowboy hat w/ confederate flag bandanna wrapped around it. me and my friends went to watch the band set up, little did i know that i had bumped into Dean!! That man had one awesome dangling earring, lil ol me got up the nerve to ask for it when you all did an autograph signing, apparently it was a bunch of earrings all hanging together, but he did give me one!! and i got all your autographs, unfortunately they were on the back of my ticket stubs and stupid me has no idea where they are now...someone probably sold em on e bay for tons of money, just one more thing in my life i kick myself for. But Hey... So Glad Your Back!!! I've been outta the loop for awhile.Please tell Dean that i miss him, (you guys need a "reunion" gig, i would crawl to the ends of the earth for that) I'm hoping to make it up to Michigan to see ya ll. You guys always did make awesome music and i'm sure you will in the future... Keep up the Great writing and everything that goes along with it. Blessings to all of you!!

Super, super show at Cowboy's in Dothan. The folks of Dothan, Alabama were very grateful and supportive of the Pirates and the Pirates delivered them a really great night of entertainment. The POTM have changed over the years - they have gotten even better. All the vintage music mixed in with the new made for a really good musical treat. Pulling for you to keep on rollin.

I witnessed the longest drive I have ever seen going to the Lauglin show and it is was well worth it!! Great show and a beautiful drive. I guess this is part of the Rockies I was seeing. That territory is powerful and majestic. Glad I got to witness the territory and the Pirate treat at the end. Cool!! Hang in there boys!! Keep on Rollin!!

I'm a long-time (20 years) long-distance (5000 miles) friend of Ladonna Chidester. Some of you may know that Donna passed away 2 weeks ago.
Being so far away, I've been meaning to say good-bye the best I can and I thought I'd pay homage to her here, among her music friends. Donna often told me about the Pirates, back from when we were teenagers. She'd send some pictures of her and the band, last year she showed me the website and she was gonna send their latest CD (I'm sure the guys didn't know they were promoted all the way to France!).
Do I have to say what a wonderful person Donna was? She really was. So when the next Pirates concert comes, hold a thought for her and enjoy the show just has she would have. And join me in sending all your love and comfort to her husband Bobby, her sister Judy and the rest of the family.

I have been going back and digging the older music along with the copy of Heaven & that RA gave me and love it!

Hey guys, I've just about worn out the new disc. I bought it as soon as it was available through the web-site and it's only left my cd changer once. I hope ya'll are working on writing for the next one.
We are waiting on you to make it to Texas. Billy Bob's in FW was always the place to be when you were here. I had the fun of getting to party with you guys a lot back then, and I've got a great 8X10 of us all on stage after a show one night. Heck, you even invited a friend and I on the bus for a beer after one show. Can't wait to see ya'll here. I'll bring a copy of the 8X10 for ya'll as a thanks for all the memories and tunes.

I think it's time to actually replace the whole collection as I have worn many holes through my other CD's. Haven't seen the both of you since you came off the stage in Metropolis, IL. My friend and I drove down from MN for that show. Other fans let us sit in the front row because we came from much farther away.I have been waiting years to send you a special thank you. Today is the 7th anniversary since I lost my husband to a long illness. Your music was a powerful force in my life and helpful in getting me through the prior 7 years of his illness. I am grateful that I was able to see you in different venues throughout the Twin Cities, even at Gatlins in the Mall of America. Welcome back my friends, hoping to see you on the road soon.

I was a big pirate fan in the '90s. I was upset that they had split up, and I really do not feel that they got the recognition that they deserved. I am glad that they have gotten back together so that they can make more awesome music. Bill and Rich are truly magic together.

I was fortunate enough to see the Pirates back in 95 at the Needles Rodeo in Needles, California when they opened for Chris LeDoux, then again two weeks later in Laughlin at The Riverside. They just really rocked my world and I still have a few cds that I listen to regularly. A few of my favorite songs are Street man named Desire, Rollin Home, and "Til I'm holding you again.

"Fighting For You" quite possibly could be the best song I believe I have ever heard. My daddy passed away in 1998 and I remember during his last year of life I strung a punching bag up on my back porch and worked out on that bag with "Fightin FOr You" playing in the background. I was powerless over his illness and this was all I could do. The song may have meant something different for y'all but I took it and applied it to my life and it was very inspiring. CAn't listen to it today without tearing up. Thanks for that song and all the rest. Your Friend

The best way to get a copy of "Dream You" would be to go to Amazon.com and purchase to CD, either new or used. Many fan club memebers have done this for the older Pirates music.

Friday night (11/30/07) my faith was restored in hearing live music. The Pirates at Douglas Corner in Nashville were AWESOME!!! Rich on guitar has few equals and Bill's voice remains a wonderfully unique slice of the vocal world. I had the good fortune of being in their corner at CAPITOL Records in the 90's when they had a string of hit singles and albums. Hats off to Evergreen Records for having the vision to continue their recording career. If you want to see the real deal don't miss them live. We are not talking the manufactured politically correct semi-pretty boys of Music Row that seep out of the promo doors of the corporate labels. We are talking musicians who have left their hats at home and instead brought their instruments to dazzle the music world. These guys are way above good. Thanks for your music. The Pirates are the real deal. To hear a band live thats sounds like on the CD if not better is what you will get with the Pirates! And down home as they can be. Always eager to meet their fans and hang out! That is why I have been a fan such a long time! And they really do appreciate every fan!
I was very honored (and very shocked!!)to recieve a plaque from Evergreen & the Pirates for all the work I have done for them! Really I do enjoy everything I do because they do give back to their fans and I feel they are wonderful friends. The concert at Douglas Corner was the best ever! From all their friends playing great music(Carter Brothers),to even the old Pirates (Jimmy & Dean)it was a very special night. And the guys really kicked butt!! They jammed all night long & play music that I havent heard in years.Something I think I will not forget for a long time! It was very cool. A plaque was presented to the Pirates from the fan club for their 20 years of music. (Joyce you will need to get a picture and put it on this site!) It was about time to give back to the Pirates from all the fans! Also Mervin at Douglas Corner did a wonder job at mixing for the guys and has a great bar. If you ever happen to be in Nashville, You need to check it out!

It's July 2008 and there don't appear to be any posts here for quite some time. I read a while back that there might be another album forthcoming. Any news on that? What about more tour dates, especially in Texas? I've pretty much wore out my Heaven and a Dixie Night cd and could use a dose of new. Would love to see the guys come through the D/FW area of Texas. Always enjoyed the show and visiting with them afterwards.
